H1N1 Flu shot

i am not worried about the guardawhatever. Same reason I didnt have all the expensive tests with Bow. Same babydaddy for all 4, same partner since I was 16. I'm either safe or he dies a much worse death than I do...

Erin, yep. I googled it. looked up squalene first. was so scared it was all I could do to keep from puking- next was thimorsal, saw it was just fancy mercury and quit.

those two were enough for me. not to mention the link between squalene and Gulf war syndrome, the govt saying "we are watching all individuals closely for any and all side effects of the vaccine" , and the other links to autisim and MS. plus autoimmune diseases and such.

I am also being very cautious on Bows vaccines. I took all the others like a good little sheep. I cant help but think that ADD/ ADHD, autism, etc are around now and wernt 100 years ago for a reason. Be it the yellow #5, partialy hyronated corn whatever, mercury, soybeans... I dont know. BUT, there is a link between something we are giving ourselves and our kids, and issues that are now abundant in our societies.

I did read that (and I might be confusing the dates with another study or something, but the basic facts I did read more than once when researching) in 1929 the first vaccine with mercury was used, and so was the first case of autism diagosed.

and yes in 1976 they came up with an H1N1 vac. most people who got it died. or had major side effects.

They tested the basics on 14 guinea pigs this round. 13 died. My kids are not going to be the guinea pigs here.


I dont know why that Texas is getting it. maybe they bought it. Our idiot gov Perry DID try to make guardawahatever mandantory. Till he was told that not only would he not get his way, he would be ran out of town on a rail. Then he changed his mind. He aint the brightest crayon in the box, and I personally will LOVE to see him gone.

I do know that every school district in Texas is giving it for free. and our kids dont even really fit the "first needed, first getting it" list.

Maybe its what we used our piece of the stimulas money on. LOL Which we shouldnt have taken in the first place, but it wasnt much of a choice. but anyway, They sent home the papers and I honestly havent spoken to anyone yet who is allowing their children to get the shot. I pray that we have made the right decision. but I feel that as a parent I have to make hard choices, and go with what I belive.

I studied it, I dont like the way it was handled, I think its all a ploy, by the govt or the drug companies- that I havent fiqured out yet. But I feel its more of a scare tactic. maybe to jumpstart the health care thing, prove that we do need the govt to run it. maybe its to make a few billion for the drug companies before they end up not being able to charge what they want for their products. It just confuses me that everyone is gonna get a free shot. They dont even give free polio shots anymore. and are not even asking those with insurance to pay for their own and givin the rest of us degernerates the 'free' one.... Eitherway- I dont like being told I have to do something, I dont like being handed something patted on the head, and told its best for me, and I sure as hell dont like for someone to try and sneak something by me, making me think that they have my best intrests at heart.

There is way too many unanswered questions about the whole thing, There are too many studies not done, and I personally cant go along with it. God might call each of my children home, from the flu, or a carwreck, I pray he doesnt. But I couldnt live with myself if I allowed them to be damaged for life by a shot that I could stop and didnt feel comfertable with them getting. I reckon I am just going to bet the odds on this one, put my fate in Gods hands and keep washing mine.

Free? wow. NY has made it mandatory for all healthcare workers, most are refusing. A lot of them remember the poor guinea pigs from the first vaccine in the 70's. Of it's mandatory for them, but not free. Nothing about getting it in school, yet. My kid wont be getting one if they do.

We won't be getting it and Im praying they don't make it mandatory. I really don't think I would like Jail too much.

I hadn't heard that Texas was giving it to the school districts for free. Nothing has come home w/ my girls about it. One girl that rides the bus w/ my oldest DD had the swine flu over a week ago. It's rapidly spreading. The school district has officially decided they are not going to let parents know if there are students who have the swine flu..... just making sure the kids wash their hands for 20 seconds, ALL the time, etc.

Will my girls get the H1N1 flu shot? No.

I DO want them to get the seasonal flu shot, but it's already run out. AUGH!

Why aren't they going to let parents know it's going around? Im not worried about it but I would like to know that it's what Im possibly dealing with if my kid were to get sick.. Simply to have a time frame and to be able to make a good judgement call.

Probably b/c last spring when they had people getting sick, parents were pulling their kids from school right & left. They don't want people to freak out. I can see both sides, to be honest. I can see the part where they don't want the kids yanked out of school just b/c someone is sick. But I can also see the parents point of view of "we wnat to know when soemone is sick so we can be on top of the illness!"

for the school, its all about that allmighty dollar. They get paid by the feds for each ass in the seat. Thats why they want your kids there till 10:30.

the school in the next town over done closed for 2 days last week cause of the flu. and they said we have a few cases of H1N1 here. But everyone I know is sick as a dog from the flu. just the normal flu.

and some of them have a strain that wasnt in the shot this year. Thats what the shot is, just a combo of the few that they think might be prevelent this year. (key words being THINK and MIGHT)

Yesterday Matt came home from Church and had 102.5. he alternated tylonol and motrin once, then got up and felt great, went outside and shot his boy by 6. Rayley came down with it around 2pm. by 10 she was fine, but coughing still. (just drainage) and feels great today... I honeslty dont know the last time I have heard of this many people sick at one time. Everyone I know on facebook is either sick or has been sick or has someone in the house sick. All the parents I know have at least one kid sick.

oh 2 to 3 weeks ago they all had alergies or a headcold really bad. I got the same thing, mine has lingered. Bow is back to neing snoty and I have an earache from HELL. nothing other than snott and an earache, feel great otherwise...

my daughter and i both recieved the flu shot and I think it is neccessary because she is in school exposed to many children. I will not be getting the hini. when i watch the news and see the medical community refusing to take it. There must be a reason

yes after reviewing all the facts...i decided to go ahead and get the h1n1 shot for my daughter....can not find it anywhere...i guess it is out and is rolling in clinics and dr's offices very slowly, they tell me to call everyday.

nope not for us... good luck to you who choose and still have to wait for it.

So many deaths here- and most of them young children and teenagers. I want to get the shot but due to shortage have not been able too. My daughter plans of getting my grandchildren a shot. You hear good and both about the injections, so you need to learn about it and then decide what you think is best for you and your family.

Even if i wanted it, it isn't available, so i am not even going to worry about it. Chances are, according to our Dr. that Bayley and Xander have some immunity, since I had it and they were exposed.
