This isn't a recipe but a method of decorating that is so darn cute! I meant to post this last year but forgot.

Start with a 9x13 cake of your own creation and cut it like so: Basically the top of one end is rounded to form the top of a ghost shape, and these cut pieces are flipped around to form the ghosts "arms".

I made this image to show the basic idea:

The ghost is iced in your favorite white icing, and then you can decorate a face using candy corn, red hots, M&Ms ...

I didn't think this was anything too special until yesterday. It was Sam's birthday and it was one of our t-ball nights. In order to make it a bit special for him I baked birthday cupcakes inside flat bottomed ice cream cones. You just fill each cone about 3/4 full of batter and bake them like you normally would. We put vanilla icing and sprinkles on top so the finished product really did look like ice cream cones. The kids loved them and best of all there was no garbage to clean up off ...

Fresh Fruit Pizza with Citrus Glaze

For the cookie base:

Use 2-3 packages of refrigerated sugar cookie dough. My big 16 inch pan needs 3.

First, line your pizza pan with parchement paper, then spread the cookie dough evenly over the pan, spreading to within about a half inch or inch of the edge. Bake at 350 until slightly browned - it firms up a little after baking. It will take longer than the stated time on the cookie dough. I had mine in an extra 10 minutes.

If you could imagine a Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie that has gone all chewy and luscious, that's what these cookies are like. You just have to try them. Don't forget to line your cookie sheets with foil when baking. Another hint: Andes also makes Cherry Flavored chocolate candies, and you can use those instead or in addition to the Mint flavor.

I made pinwheel cookies and checkerboard cookies this week and they came out very, very pretty... but the taste was only so-so. I'm looking for a yummier recipe for a sugar cookie dough. I think the one I used was OK, but adding the cocoa powder to make the dark part of the dough made them a lot less sweet.

And no, I'm not a great cookie maker. I usually just buy dough and then we eat it without ever baking it, LOL. But I remember making cookies from scratch and wanted to do that ...

Happy Thanksgiving, Bzzers!

What is your favorite leftover sandwich? I saw a food program last night about this restaurant that sell something called the Leftover sandwich. It cooks three turkeys a day to make the sandwiches because they are so popular. They slice the meat, chop it up and then add stuffing to it and make a patty. They then grill it. They toast the bread and then spread it with cranberry sauce. Boy, that looked good.

What do you put on your leftover sandwiches?

I had the best chicken salad the other day and I'm not sure how the people made it. I asked the waiter for the recipe and of course he said no. It's a small family run business. Anyway, in the chicken salad I tasted chicken (lol), mayo, small grapes, and some type of nuts. It was to die for. Do any of you have a really good chicken salad? I'm having a play group over on Wed. and thought about making some. I'd buy some from the place, but it's $10. per lb. They think highly of it! Thanks!

Bake a chocolate cake as directed in a 9 by 13 pan. While hot, poke holes all over the surface of the cake. Mix one can of sweetened condensed milk and a half bottle of Carmel ice cream topping. Pour this over the cake. Set in fridge to cool. When cool, frost with whipped cream or cool whip and garnish with chocolate curls and a drizzle of Carmel. Keep in fridge. My grandkids think this has to be made weekly and just for them. Its kinda like a death by chocolate!!

Need some recipes..

Looking for something different to make once in a while for dinner. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut. We don't eat much beef only a roast every once in a great while. We mostly eat chicken or pork. Looking for something without a billion ingredients and not so fancy that the kids won't eat it. Anybody have any ideas?
