These are kind of like crumble/crisp with chocolate and caramel. SUPER EASY TO MAKE

Caramel Lea Bars

Stage One

2 Cups Flour
2 Cups Oatmeal
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 Cups Melted Butter

Stage Two

2 Cups Chocolate Chips (any variety)

Stage Three

1 1/2 Cup Caramel Topping (I use smuckers)
6 TBSP Flour

Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9 cake pan. Mix Stage one ingredents and press half of this mixture into
the greased pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips onto cooked mixture. Combine Stage three caramel mixture and drizzle
over choc chips reserving just a bit of caramel topping. Sprinkle remaining oatmeal mixture onto pan and remainder of the caramel and bake for 15-20 minutes or
until golden brown.

THanks its super easy. I separated the ingredients out in 3 sections only so people could see what was in each mixing.

This is a really good cookie type bar and a HIT with the kids and adults too.

Thanks, something I would try. Question, oatmeal - quick oats - Quaker brand? What is oatmeal?

Trax, I think that she means regular oats, not the quick kind. Since it is a bar cookie, I would recommend the regular oats. They offer a better flavour but if you only have quick oats, they would work in a pinch.

Hope this helps!

In our house, Oatmeal is a grey cat with three stripes on her back. But I'm pretty sure she just meant oats. Around here, oats often say oatmeal on the box, rather than just oats.

Oatmeal is cooked oats (porridge). But some brands such as Quaker pre-cook the oats and dry them back out to make instant oatmeal.

Either or works. Porrige Oats, Rolled Oats, Quaker instant Oats - as long as they are dry they work. My mother used Quaker instant, I use rolled.
