| This one is a huge hit w/my kids.
2 tsp. cooking oil 2 lbs. ground beef 14 oz can of tomato sauce 1 1/2 cups chopped onion 1 cup thin sliced celery 2 tbsp. barbecue sauce 2 tsp worcestershire sauce sprinkle of salt 1/4 tsp. pepper *optional* 1 1/2 cups grated med. cheddar cheese. 8 kaiser rolls, split *toasted if you would like*
Heat cooking oil in lg. frying pan on medium. Add beef. Scramble or fry for 5-10 mins until no longer pink. Drain. Place in 3 1/2-4 quart slow cooker.
Add next 7 ingredients. Stir well. Cover. Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 4-4 1/2.
Add cheese.. stir until melted. Makes about 4 cups of beef mixture.
Add to bottom half of buns. Place top on and enjoy!

My kids actually love this.. I served it w/salad and w/corn chips or potato chips..and slice cucumber & tomato the times I've made it.

Very similar recipe to what I do... but I do in a large fry pan with cover, and just set on low. Also use catsup for the tomato sauce, and squeeze in some prepared mustard. I don't add the cheese though, instead serve with a slice of American Cheese and dill pickle slices. In MI, we called that a Sagatuck BBQ. _________________ Dee - |

| mm, thanks... was going to buy loads of lean ground beef as it is on a great sale and was wondering what else I could do with it. Today is an experimental crock pot meatloaf. |

| We tried it here last week too. Had no BBQ sauce and had to make my own in order to make the sloppy joes. Turned out A1. Thanks for sharing! |
