In general.

We all belong to multiple money, freebie, survey sites and they all take a bit of effort on our part. Not just bzz....

Thats it. back to my drink.

People are saying quite a bit today, but that is false. I have been a Mypoints member since 1999 and have never paid to get a gc shipped. They have no way to charge you that I know of.

My friend got a GC from my points last week, for $50, when she got it the value was $45.95, they charged for shipping.

I just got a starbucks cert...25 for 25...no shipping. I have never paid shipping.

Mypoints is the new partner for rewards for Bzz from here on out.

You do not have to particpate in furthering your mypoints account from mypoints just collect points from bzzagent and cash in when you have enough.

I was referring to getting an online certificate (say to amazon.com) and then having to pay amazon's shipping. Not all their items qualify for free shipping.

Ok, but that is not what Darlene thought and I wanted her to know she would not pay shipping to get one. You are correct, but you can also use the gc at b&m stores and restaurants and no shipping is invloved.

Well I am not crazy about this mypoint thing but it looks like I could get about $60 worth of gift cards. With their old system I never got anything so this is better than nothing. I think the only people that ever got anything from bzzz were older, tier 3 and 4 bzz ladies and the newer 1 and 2 tier never got anything. At least this is more fair. I have been here a year and even if there was a reward I had just got the bzz kit and couldn't get the bzz report ok'd fast enough to get anything. The items went in and out before you could sneeze. Something is better than nothing!!

I have spent this evening trying to see the silver lining in this. I will absolutely use the giftcards, as I buy all of our family's groceries at Walmart. The gas ones would be great, since it just hit $4 a gallon for unleaded today, but the gas stations listed aren't around here, I don't think. I think I would be willing to get on board with this system if they'd give us the points they took back. My husband just quit a job last month because his employer took a commission that DH was supposed to have gotten. This kinda feels like the same thing...

Im one who was never able to get anything either so maybe that is why Im not understanding the 40% loss... where does that come from, how were you able to put a dollar value on the points at bzzz? And what was it?

You used to be able to make a $10 "donation" with 100 points. With mypoints, the cheapest $10 gift card is 1400 mypoints. When you divide that by 8, you get 175 mypoints as opposed to 100 bzzpoints in the old system.

Re: Points ratio

Connie, it is difficult to give an exact figure for the conversion because the cash out at MyPoints varies from store to store. But, the best offer I could find was just under 60 cents on the dollar as compared to BzzPoints buying value (for donations and the rewards I looked up on Amazon.com). Some of the MyPoints offers were closer to 50 cents on the dollar.

Thanks Michelle and Karen.. that explains the difference.. Their only saving grace is going to be if we start getting 300 mypoints points or more for each report instead of 30.

I wouldn't have minded taking a slight loss in exchange for the benefit of easier reward redemption. But 40% isn't slight. It's a huge chunk.
